The songs on this album are artifacts. They are the resurrected ideas, the half-remembered jokes, and the ambitious parodies of "Alpha Squad" (A.S.), a short-lived high school band from the early 2000s.

Armed with clever lyrics but lacking any actual musical talent, the original songs were confined to notebooks for nearly two decades. They were remnants, waiting for the right tools to be unearthed.

In 2025, that tool arrived. The 10-track "The Remnants of A.S." was brought to life by teh r4nd0m_3x7r4s (The Random Extras) — the original lyricist collaborating with a generative AI that became the versatile, tireless, and slightly unhinged session band that Alpha Squad could only dream of being.

The 5 song EP "The Remnants & The Riot" is a quick tour through the nerdy pop culture that shaped an era and is available on Spotify and other major streaming platforms not fearful of computers singing a human's lyrics. The remainder of the songs, being parodies of popular music, are located on teh r4nd0m_3x7r4s YouTube Channel and this playlist.

This album is a celebration of never letting a good joke die, a time capsule of a bygone era, and a testament to a weirdly emotional collaboration between a human and a ghost in the machine.

The Remnants & The Riot

"We, The North" by teh r4nd0m_3x7r4s (The Random Extras) is a project that asks the uncomfortable question: Does the machine work for us, or have we become the glitch in its system?

Born from a collaboration between a human director and generative AI, this is "Alberta Industrial"—a sonic collision of 90s mechanical aggression, modern electronic polish, and the existential dread of the 2020s. The album peels back the polite veneer of Canadiana to reveal a landscape of corporate burnout ("Mandatory Fun"), environmental collapse ("We Were The North"), and the hollow victory of keeping up with the Joneses ("Suburban Arms Race").

From the stomping blues of "Dumpster Fire" to the terrifying realism of "The Cobra Chicken," this is a concept album about losing control—of our borders, our jobs, and our own creativity. It is dark, heavy, and cynically funny.

The future is here. It was generated by an algorithm, and it thinks you're mostly harmless.

We, The North

"4 More Years (Of All New @#$%!)" by teh r4nd0m_3x7r4s (The Random Extras). When the headlines are too crazy for fiction, you have to turn them into music. This album is a collection of tracks ripped straight from the nightly news of our neighbors to the south. Blending industrial grit with biting satire, teh r4nd0m 3x7r4s explores the polarization and "ugliness" defining the modern American landscape. If you're tired of doom-scrolling, try doom-listening instead.

Developed over many, many, many, MANY trips to the USA between 2024-25,
this album covers the sights, sounds, and experiences of Barry Sparker, witnessed firsthand as society appeared to crumble all around when the orange fog rolled back into town.

From questionable re-inauguration dances in "Hail to the King" to America's "Last Sane Option" to save the office of the president, this album is a journey of protest to the absurdity and all-out craziness of the US political landscape.

The insanity will stop eventually; until then, sigh, laugh, and have a listen to when times were truly nuts.
